Robert Skone James

Robert Skone James was honoured to have been elected as Society Chair to lead the Society into its 75th anniversary season and beyond. An experienced violinist, he first played with TPS on an occasional basis in the 1980’s, joining his wife Susan and under the baton of John Cullen. His orchestral input became more regular from 2000, and in 2014 he took on the role of leader of the second violins. In the same year he was elected onto the Executive Committee as Treasurer, and has greatly enjoyed contributing to the overall management of the organisation.

Robert enjoys playing chamber music and is currently playing in a string quartet with TPS President, Robin Morrish. Now retired, in his working life he was a European Patent Attorney for forty years, and was Chairman of his company, GJE, for over ten years.
