Robert Skone James is very excited and honoured to have been elected as Society Chair to lead the Society into its 75th anniversary season and beyond. An experienced violinist, he first played with TPS on an occasional basis in the 1980’s, joining his wife Susan and under the baton of John Cullen. His orchestral input became more regular from 2000, and in 2014 he took on the role of leader of the second violins. In the same year he was elected onto the Executive Committee as Treasurer, and has greatly enjoyed contributing to the overall management of the organisation. Now he hands on the role of Treasurer with the finances in a resilient state, able to cope with the ever-changing environment.
Robert enjoys playing chamber music and is currently playing in a string quartet with TPS President, Robin Morrish. In his working life he has been a European Patent Attorney for forty years, and has been Chairman of his company, GJE, for the last ten years.
