A joyful reunion – first concert back

“What a joyful and happy reunion took place in the School Chapel on Saturday night! Performers, choir and orchestra, and audience alike joined in the spirit of the Psalmist and composer, Hubert Parry: we were united in the gladness of entering the House of the Lord to celebrate together after many months of isolating lockdown. To crown the glory of the event, we welcomed the arrival of our wonderful new Director of Music, Naomi Butcher, whose energy and enthusiasm immediately invigorated the performance.” Robin Morrish, President of Tonbridge Philharmonic Society (full review coming soon).

“There was a keen air of expectation in the regal surroundings of the Chapel of St Augustine at Tonbridge School… with passionate performances from choir, orchestra and conductor alike, Naomi Butcher has brought a breath of fresh air to the Tonbridge Philharmonic Society. Her next few concerts include Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Durufle and Sibelius, and if they live up to the standards set by this enticing opener they will be well worth catching” Ben Hogwood, Arcana fm (full review click here)
